Sodium Sulfate Manufacturing Equipment
Sodium Sulfate Manufacturing Plant is an advanced and efficient system for producing high-purity sodium sulfate (Na₂SO₄), an essential compound used in detergents, textiles, and various industrial applications. This production line utilizes the Mannheim process, where sodium chloride (NaCl) reacts with sulfuric acid (H₂SO₄) in a specially designed high-temperature furnace, yielding sodium sulfate and hydrochloric acid (HCl) as a byproduct.
Product Description
Sodium Sulfate manufacturing equipment is an advanced and efficient system for producing high-purity sodium sulfate (Na₂SO₄), a crucial compound used in detergents, textiles, and various industrial applications. This production line utilizes the Mannheim process, where sodium chloride (NaCl) reacts with sulfuric acid (H₂SO₄) in a specially designed high-temperature furnace, yielding sodium sulfate and hydrochloric acid (HCl) as a byproduct.
Compared to alternative methods, which often suffer from lower reaction efficiency and inconsistent product quality, the Mannheim process is widely adopted for its stable operation, high product purity, and cost-effectiveness. However, traditional Mannheim furnaces face challenges in heating uniformity, energy efficiency, and environmental impact.
To address these issues, our company has optimized the Mannheim furnace design and manufacturing process, enhancing heat distribution, reaction completeness, and energy efficiency. Additionally, we have implemented new materials and technologies in the hydrochloric acid absorption system, significantly improving absorption efficiency and environmental compliance. These advancements ensure that our Mannheim Sodium Sulfate Production Line delivers superior performance, lower operational costs, and an environmentally friendly solution for sodium sulfate production.

Mannheim Process
The Mannheim Process is the most widely used method for producing sodium sulfate (Na₂SO₄), a key chemical used in detergents, textiles, glass manufacturing, and various industrial applications. This process involves a high-temperature reaction between sodium chloride (NaCl) and sulfuric acid (H₂SO₄) inside a muffle furnace, typically heated above 600ºC.
Reaction Mechanism
The production occurs in two stages:
Formation of Sodium Bisulfate:
NaCl + H₂SO₄ → NaHSO₄ + HCl
Conversion to Sodium Sulfate:
NaHSO₄ + NaCl → Na₂SO₄ + HCl
This reaction yields sodium sulfate as the main product and hydrochloric acid (HCl) as a valuable byproduct.
Production Capacity
The Mannheim Process is a widely adopted method for sodium sulfate production due to its efficiency and reliability. A single production line has a standard capacity of 10,000 tons per year, and we can customize the number of equipment sets based on specific production requirements.
To meet diverse operational needs, we offer customizable options, including:
- Fuel choices: Natural gas, oil, or coal
- Control systems: MCC, PLC, or DCS
- Final product forms: Powder or granular
With an optimized furnace design and an improved absorption system, our sodium sulfate production line ensures high efficiency, lower energy consumption, and full environmental compliance.
